Grammy-award-winning rapper Lil’ Kim announced that she’s back on the scene with the release of her new book.
On April 28, Lil’ Kim revealed that she would be releasing a tell-all memoir titled “The Queen Bee.”
According to People Magazine, she’s writing the tell-all with Kathy Landoli, and it’s set to be published by Hachette Books on November 2.
The Brooklyn-bred rapper told the publication, “I’m excited to finally get to tell my story after all this time, many people have thought they knew the story of Lil’ Kim, but they have no idea.”
“The Queen Bee” is planned to be a detailed exclusive of the trials and tribulations in the rapper’s career.
The book’s press release stated, “Lil’ Kim not only blazed trails for women in hip-hop but also inspired the careers of those who followed.”
“However, life at the top hasn’t been easy, either,” Lil’ Kim continued. She recapped her reign, including her complicated high-profile relationships, the misogynistic industry she fought to change through sex positivity, the challenging double standards of self-image and beauty in the spotlight and the momentous act of loyalty that ultimately landed her in prison.
S**t got real with the petite emcee.
According to the press release, Lil’ Kim’s book is supposed to be a “candid” reveal and give insight into her work as a “feminist icon.”
“A true page-turner from start to finish, ‘The Queen Bee’ is every bit as fierce, empowering, and badass as the woman at the heart of this story — and firmly cements her legacy as a true feminist icon.”
The Brooklyn artist is known for her time being in a relationship and rapping with the Notorious B. I .G., being the only woman in Junior M.A.F.I.A. the rap collective before becoming a solo rapper, and later going double-platinum with her 1996 album, “Hard Core.”
After her time in prison in 2006, she stayed low-key, but Lil’ Kim is back and ready to share her story with the world.
