Rumors are flying about a romance between British actor John Boyega and former Love & Hip Hop New York star Maggie Carrie after both shared photos on similar-looking planes in similar-looking vacation spots, Madame Noire reported.

A romance between the two wouldn’t be off-brand for Boyega who has never been shy about his love for Black women.

In March 2020,  GQ UK released an issue with Boyega on the cover with his Star Wars co-star Daisy Ridley, who’s white. An eager fan suggested the two date each another. Boyega shut nonsense down stating that he loved Black women. The post has since been deleted, but it was proof then that Boyega still loves sisters.

In June last year, he gave an impassioned speech at London’s Hyde Park following the murder of George Floyd about protecting Black women.

“Black men, we need to take care of our Black women! We need to take care of them! They’re ours! They’re ours! They’re our future! We cannot demonize our own,” Boyega shouted to the crowd.

Boyega also showed love for Black women in the industry in front of and behind the camera when in 2018, he said the success of the film “Black Panther” proved it was time for Hollywood to give more access to Black women and put them in more powerful positions.

He said, “We need more executives, showrunners, writers, directors, getting our Black women in there, specifically.”

And, if you thought he was unclear about the type of Black woman he envisioned in these roles, make no mistake– “When I say Black women, I mean our brown-skinned Black women, because colorism has become an issue as well, and we need to tackle all of these things.”

So who in his mind fits that bill?

“I would say Angela Bassett. I would say Viola Davis. Newly, I’d say Letitia Wright. She’s inspired me in ways I couldn’t bloody imagine! And of course, Lupita Nyong’o. I mean, she knows she inspires me every day,” the actor expressed.

We don’t know for sure, but it is possible he’s found that same inspiration in Maggie Carrie as of late. We’ll keep you posted.
