Artist Chance the Rapper and wife Kristen have purchased a $2.3 million family mansion in the northern Chicago suburb of Bannockburn.
According to the Chicago Tribune, in the past, Chance has allocated part of his earnings to real estate; in 2018, he paid $3.7 million for a three-bedroom, 4,500-square-foot condo located in Streeterville.
Chance and Kristen previously had been renting a five-bedroom, 6,721-square-foot mansion modeled in a French Provincial-style and located in Bannockburn before deciding to purchase an entirely different estate in the same neighborhood.
The young couple purchased the house on September 14, 2021, and it is situated a couple of blocks away from the rental home.
The mansion was built in 1996 and is sitting on 3.71 acres. It has incredible features such as six and a half bathrooms, six fireplaces, a kitchen with a huge center island, a marble baker’s counter, granite countertops, a sub-zero refrigerator, two sinks much more.
According to the outlet, the listing agent Alan Berlow of Coldwell Banker, who co-listed the home with Shannon Towson, said to Elite Street, “Plus, it’s so close to Deerfield, Bannockburn, and Riverwoods amenities, as well as Deerfield schools.”
“Having a great location, the acreage, the pool, and the walkout basement are all huge pluses. It has just beautiful grounds,” he added.
Chance’s mother, Lisa Thompson-Bennett, is an agent for Crown Heights Realty and was the representative for her son in the deal for the mansion. The mansion had an overdue property tax bill of $38,352 for last year.
Chance, born Chancelor Bennett, was raised on the South Side of Chicago in West Chatham. The rapper is a three-time Grammy Award-winning artist, songwriter, and producer. He has released three mixtapes since his career took off and one studio album.
