Singer Akon went on The Bootleg Kev podcast and revealed he traveled to Turkey to undergo a $7,500 hair transplant procedure. And while the singer was proud to announce it and show his new “do” off, Black Twitter sounded off with jokes about the singer’s new look.
“Don’t forget in the beginning, my whole front was loose, it was real thin,” the “Lonely” so get said on the podcast. When asked if it hurt, Akon responded that the most painful part of the procedure was when they used a big needle to numb him.
The host told him his hair looked good, and Akon responded by calling it “amazing.” Twitter, on the other hand, thought differently.

The host told Akon that he should’ve had whoever did his hair transplant procedure operate on rapper Tory Lanez, who also underwent a hair transplant. Akon also revealed that he didn’t want the procedure done in America because the country overcharged people, while the procedure was cheaper in Turkey. Depending on the type of procedure, the costs for a hair transplant vary in the US. Akon said his transplant would’ve cost around $50,000.
