Young Thug’s Nephew Arrested, Charged After Allegedly Killing Girlfriend

Award-winning Atlanta rapper Young Thug’s nephew Fardereen Deonta Grier was arrested and charged after allegedly killing his girlfriend, Destiny Fitzpatrick.

According to reports, Thug’s nephew Grier was arrested on July 6 and charged with murder in the fatal shooting of Fitzpatrick in East Point, Georgia. He allegedly shot her in the face on July 5, and when police arrived at the scene, they discovered her lying dead in a pool of blood by the front door while Grier was crying.

Officers said the Georgia man initially told them he was trying to defend himself against armed intruders but later confessed to shooting his girlfriend. He also revealed that he was Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Lamar Williams’ sister’s son, when questioned by police. A source close to the rapper reportedly confirmed Grier’s relation to him.

Ironically, the mother of Thug’s 14-year-old son Kyvion Jackson, LaKevia Jackson, was tragically gunned down in Atlanta back in March. Sis2Sis reported that the 31-year-old was shot and killed outside of Metro Fun Center on Metropolitan Parkway as she was reportedly there for her best friend’s party on Mar. 17. The fatal shooting occurred after an alleged argument inside the popular establishment.

Just a few months later, in May, Thug was arrested at his Atlanta home after authorities named him in an indictment centered around the famous musicYoung Slim Life. Prosecutors reportedly said the collective is actually a criminal street gang co-founded by the 30-year-old. Gunna, his fellow rapper and protege, was among two dozen other individuals that were arrested in the indictment. Thug was charged with conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act and participation in street gang activity.

The musician was last seen thanking fans for their support amidst his legal drama via a video of him in jail at Hot97’s 2022 Summer Jam. He also urged them to protect Black art and sign the Protect Black Art petition created by record executive Kevin Liles via Change.org.
