Veteran Actress Marlo Thomas Reportedly Fat-Shamed Sherri Shepherd On Her Daytime Talk Show

"You used to be a big woman," Thomas told her.

Actress Marlo Thomas’ recent appearance on The Sherri Shepherd Show left some staffers and viewers upset after she reportedly fat-shamed the show’s host.

On November 1, the veteran actress appeared on the show to promote her upcoming movie Magical Christmas Village. Marlo randomly mentioned Sherri being a “big woman” when she shared with the audience that she had previously interviewed the host.

“I interviewed you for my AOL show,” the 84-year-old woman recounted. “and you used to be a big woman!”

Marlo doubled down on the foolishness by puffing out her cheeks and extending her arms past her body to show the audience how big Sherri used to be.

Sherri, either ignoring the shade or oblivious to it, laughed and told Marlo that she had lost 35 pounds. She also embraced the That Girl star.

“You’ve lost a lot of weight, but you’ve still got the boobies! That’s good,” she responded.

While the comedian was a “good sport” about being fat-shamed, her employees were pissed off.

“Sherri was a good sport, but people [at the show] are very protective of her,” an anonymous source told Page Six. “People were not happy that she fat-shamed her on national TV. It was like a slap in the face.”

The person also said that the staff was extremely protective of the 55-year-old Chicago native.

“She works really hard at creating a very positive environment. Morale is everything to her, so people sort of went into mama bear mode,” they added.

Fans tweeted their shock over Marlo’s egregious comment.

Apparently, fans and employees don’t play about Sherri.
