Twitter Users Argue Over Whether Morgan Freeman or James Earl Jones Has The Most Iconic Voice

Twitter chose violence, again.

Actors Morgan Freeman and James Earl Jones were at the center of a Twitter debate about who possesses the most iconic speaking voice.

The lighthearted argument popped off after user @OptixWasTaken posed the question in a tweet on Monday.

“Between James Earl Jones and Morgan Freeman, it’s hard to choose who has the most iconic voice,” the tweet stated.

“It’s Mufasa vs. Lucius Fox!”

It’s a valid question since both men are known for voicing iconic characters. Jones is known for voicing Mufasa in Lion King

and Star Wars character Darth Vader. Freeman is known for portraying God in Bruce Almighty. He has also narrated several films, including War of Worlds and The Love Guru.

Both sides presented strong arguments.

“Didn’t y’all hear Freeman narrate 21 Savage’s album … ? Who can narrate like THE Morgan Freeman ?!?! Several are good, but Freeman is top tier,” wrote a pro-Freeman person.

James Earl Jones is the voice of Darth Vader. That is the most well-known voice in the movies. I love me some

Morgan Freeman, but the “Luke, I am your father” voice wins! Every time he opens his mouth to say something, you know it’s him, and you think back to Darth Vader,” wrote another fan.

Others had trouble choosing between the two actors.

“Everything has to be a debate. I am so thankful to both of their voices as well as many others,” wrote one commenter.

Other celebrities were highlighted for their iconic voices, including Keith David, Samuel L. Jackson and Isaac Hayes.

The debate caused Jones and Freeman to be trending topics on Twitter, making some unsuspecting users fear the worst.

Saw James Earl Jones and Morgan Freeman trending, but it’s all good. It’s just about their recognizable voices. I always panic a bit when I see my favorites trending,” wrote one person.

We’re just happy to see our icons get their flowers.
