Taraji P. Henson recently opened up about the abuse she suffered at the hands of an ex-partner in a recent clip of an upcoming episode of her Facebook Watch show, Peace of Mind.
Taraji P. Henson has been transparent when sharing intimate details of her past life experiences on her Facebook show, covering mental health and well-being topics.
In the clip released Friday, Oct. 22, the 51-year-old actress recalls the moment she decided to leave an abusive relationship while speaking with co-host Tracie Jade and guest Angela Simmons.

“Sometimes as women what we do is we fall in love, and we go, ‘You know what? I’ll fix it later,’” Henson began.
Henson then listened to Simmons speak on her own experience with domestic violence. Simmons said that she felt “broken” and blamed herself for the abuse she endured. “How could I make someone so upset that they would treat me like that?” she asked.
Henson said it was time to take action when the interactions with her ex drew blood.
“Because it started with the bruises and grabbing, things like that. And then once the fist came — I’m missing a piece of my lip to this day — that’s when I knew I had to go.”
“I grew up around it, and at the time, I had my son, and I was like, ‘I don’t want my son around this,’” she explained.

Peace of Mind with Taraji” is set to make its season-two premiere on Monday, Oct. 25, after being renewed for a second season last August.
This season, Henson and Jade will appear for ten episodes featuring an array of celebrity guests, including Megan Thee Stallion, Chöle Bailey and more. Henson will discuss a series of topics, including social media bullying, gun violence, overcoming adversity and repression of emotion in Black men.
