On Sunday, “It’s Going Down” hitmaker Yung Joc revealed his mom died in an Instagram post dedicated to her.
He shared he was with her during her final moment and expressed his gratitude for the moment God granted him and his mom’s, Ms. Vicky’s, support.
“I don’t have much to say…Thank you for all of life’s lessons and blessings… Such a real 1…you waited on me today and allowed me to pray with you, and you took your last breath…We had some laughs, and we cried together along the way…I am at peace Momma…thank you for allowing me & squirt to help you fight…thank you thank you. I hope I made you proud, momma,” Yung Joc’s post read.

Friends of the rapper took to his comments to express their condolences.
“Praying for you! Keep going. You got this. God bless you keep Him 1st.”
“The pain of losing a parent is unlike anything in this world. But I know she poured love into you and used her time on Earth usefully and with purpose. Hold ya head, J, you got this. Love you, brother!!!!”
“Praying for your strength, peace and renewed joy. Your mom raised a powerful king, so I know she is smiling down on you from heaven.”
A month before Ms. Vicky’s death, Joc shared a clip of him and his mom exchanging laughs despite the situation.
“One must make sound judgments even in chaos’s presence…My past has presented my present…My present shall yield my future…Yall know how I rock bout my momma… So if you see a smile on my face, just know it’s because I’m thankful for every moment God has afforded me…we’re fighting,” the Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star wrote in the caption.

Ms. Vicky revealed to Yung Joc that she was diagnosed with stage three lung cancer last year on an L&HHA episode.
