On September 25, fans took to social media to roast comedian Mo’nique’s latest fashion look, mentioning that they would prefer she wore a bonnet.

The actress recently took to social media and posted photos of herself sporting a black dress with a long waist-length skunk-look ponytail for her appearance at the Barclays Center in New York for the “Fall Back Comedy Jam.”

Mo’nique’s post went viral soon after it went live, and people’s reactions were mixed.

The most common was her infamous “bonnet” comment when the actress mentioned that Black women shouldn’t be wearing the hair accessory in public and talked about their clothing attire.

“She shoulda left her bonnet on,” one user said.

“I would rather you wear a bonnet than step out in this love,” another said.

Others flooded her comments section with love and sang the actress praises.

As previously reported, Mo’nique took to social media earlier this year and made a statement about women who wear bonnets after having encountered them wearing bonnets along with headscarves and house slippers in public.

She wrote, “Hey my sweet babies, so …it took me a minute to say what I’m getting ready to say because I want to make sure I’m not saying it in judgment, and I want to make sure I’m saying it from a place of love.”

It looks like social media isn’t over it quite yet.
