Actor Lance Reddick, known for his role as Charon in all of the John Wick films, died on Friday, March 17. He was 60 years old and died from “natural causes.”
His PR company confirmed the news on Instagram.
“We are devastated and heartbroken with the passing of our friend and client Lance Reddick,” the announcement read. “He was the greatest of humans in all the ways. We are sending love to his wife Stephanie, his children and all who loved him and admired him as we did.”
His wife, Stephanie, gave a statement regarding her husband’s death on his Twitter account.
“Lance was taken from us far too soon,” she wrote. “Thank you for your overwhelming love, support and beautiful stories shared on these platforms over the last day. I see your messages and can’t begin to express how grateful I am to have them.”

Reddick, a multi-faceted actor, began acting in the mid-1990s. He was known for his big and small roles, like The Guest, White House Down, Oldboy, Won’t Back Down with Viola Davis and more.
He also worked in TV shows like The Wire (where he portrayed Cedric Daniels), Oz (Detective Johnny Basil) and Fringe (Phillip Broyles). Amid working in Wire, he appeared on other shows like Law & Order and CSI: Miami.
But his work on all four installments of John Wick as the smooth, intelligent and professional Continental Hotel concierge, Charon, goes unseen.
The Twitter page for the upcoming movie, which comes out on March 24, 2023, honored him.
“A kindhearted soul, a wonderful human, and a true friend. Be seeing you, Lance Reddick,” the post read.
