Insecure creator Issa Rae surprised fans when she married her longtime boyfriend on July 25, according to LoveBScott. The couple was married in the South of France.
The thirty-six-year-old actress married her banker fiancé, Louis Diame, 37, at the Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat commune in France near Nice and Monaco.
Rae announced the nuptials on Instagram as she joked that her friends (bridesmaids) all showed up wearing the same dress and that she took some pictures with “someone’s” husband.
“A) Impromptu photo shoot in a custom @verawanggang dress. B) My girls came to help me, but they all coincidentally had on the same dress! They were sooooo embarrassed. C) Then I took a few flicks with Somebody’s Husband. Big thanks to @whiteedenweddings for being so gracious and accommodating and making this feel so real and special.”
The bride wore a strapless white Vera Wang dress, and the groom looked dapper in what appeared to be a red, velvet tuxedo.

Fans may remember Diame playing a character on Rae’s YouTube series Awkward Black Girl during season 1. He played a man giving Rae’s character the evil eye for being on a date with a white man even though he himself is on a date with a white woman, per Harpers Bazaar.
Rae’s brother Lamine “Enimal” Diop told US Magazine back in 2019 that Diame was like a brother to him.
“He’s just a good guy, man. He’s just a cool guy,” he said. “They’ve been dating forever. He’s already been like a brother to me. Family ties at all the family events and dinners, Christmas, Thanksgiving. Issa’s so low-key too—for real! I found out, like, a couple days later, so we’re just gonna let her lead the way.”
