Garcelle Beauvais was recently a guest on TV One’s show Uncensored: Unscripted. The Jamie Foxx Show actress admitted that Grammy award winner Gladys Knight caught her kissing Jamie Foxx back when the two were rumored to be dating.
“I knew Jamie from ‘In Living Color,’ and our chemistry was through the roof,” Garcelle recalled, “We did steal a kiss one time backstage. Gladys Knight came around the corner, and she saw us. And I remember being so embarrassed, but that was a one-time thing.” The 55-year-old clarified.
Knight allegedly caught the pair sharing a kiss when most people were already gossiping about Garcelle and Foxx’s chemistry and thinking they were dating. However, Garcelle told Access Hollywood earlier this year that they never were an official couple. They decided not to take the next step to try to preserve their unique and close friendship.
“I love him so much [but] had we had something back in the day, we wouldn’t be the friends we are now.” She said before continuing, “I’ve seen him grow into this amazing man, amazing father,”
Foxx has always been willing to offer help in whatever way he could for Garcelle, and she shared an anecdote about an interaction they had while she was working on her sex trafficking documentary.
“I just called him, and I said, ‘Will you do this video for me?’ He responded with, “Yeah. How soon do you want it?’ Like, but he’s just that way.” She described, “When I was doing my documentary, my short about sex trafficking, and I called him and I said, ‘I’m going to need some funding,’ and he was like, ‘how much do you need?’, and I go ‘Jamie I don’t want you to pay for the whole thing.’ Like you know what I mean, he’s jus? He’s the guy. He’s really great.”
According to the Haitian-American actress, Foxx disapproves of every guy she tried to date in the past, but their relationship has not and will never progress past being good friends.
