According to Daily Mail, Dr. Dre’s oldest daughter, 38-year-old LaTanya Young, is homeless and living in a rental car.
Young is the music icon’s daughter with ex-girlfriend Lisa Johnson, with whom Dre has two other daughters. His daughter told the outlet that her four children live with friends while she is homeless and living in a rental vehicle. She said that her father has paid for her rent and expenses in the past but that she has not seen him in 18 years.
Young also said that she hadn’t received any help from her wealthy father in more than a year. Dr. Dre’s oldest daughter also said that she doesn’t have her father’s phone number and has to go through others to speak to him. She has been supporting herself by driving a rental car for DoorDash and Uber Eats.
According to Young, Dr. Dre has never met his four grandchildren, who are 16, 13, 8 and 3-years-old. One of his grandchildren, eight-year-old D’Andre, is named after him. Young said that Dre’s lawyer told her that he wouldn’t help her because she’d talked to the press.
‘I’m homeless and I’ve been reaching out to my dad for help,” said Young. “His lawyer has said that my dad doesn’t want to help me because I’ve spoken about him in the press. I feel like I’m damned if I do, I’m damned if I don’t. I’m just trying to communicate with him and see if he wants to talk to his grandkids. My kids are old enough to know who he is. They are in shock that he doesn’t want anything to do with them.”
Young also said that it’s humiliating that she has a wealthy father capable of paying ex-wives millions of dollars while she is homeless. She also claimed that her father promised to put her and her two sisters through college but did not do so.
“People label me as a millionaire’s daughter so they don’t understand why I’m working,” said Young. “It makes me want to crawl under a rock. He used to help with our rent and gave an allowance, but he told us he wouldn’t do anything anymore. I’m out on the streets. I asked him for help and I haven’t got a response back from his lawyer. I’m hearing about mistresses that he’s bought houses for. It’s a messy situation.”
“I just heard that he has to pay $300k a month for spousal support – it’s embarrassing because people are looking at me wondering: why? What Nicole has got is what my mom should have got. I honestly wrote a proposal and asked him if he could get a home for me and my sister and my kids. He was supposed to put us through college and pay for our health insurance, and he never did that. My mom felt like he never upheld his end of the bargain.”
Johnson and Dre split up when Young was five years old. Dre has a total of eight children.
