The interwebs are up in arms over the Bodega Boys being done and finished.
The alleged drama between the highly-popular Bronx comedy team Desus and Mero seemed to come to a head online this month. Fans speculated for months that the Bodega Boys were at odds, but cryptic posts on Twitter and Reddit by Desus and Mero are seemingly forecasting the end of an era. The last episode aired on June 23.
Desus posted a tweet on June 19.

The tweet appeared to settle fans concerned that a split between the Bodega Boys was lingering.
But on July 12, Mero’s response to Desus’ tweet and a fan via his Reddit dashed all hope that the two were solid and moving forward.
“NAH, ITS A WRAP, BRODY, SOMEBODY MENTIONED DUDE TWEETING THAT FROM SOME COUNTRY AT LIKE 3AM. I TOURED W DUDE FOR YEARS HE WAS FUBAR AND IN HIS BAG. PODCAST DONE ENJOY THE BACK CATALOG MY PALS.”
On July 15, Desus responded via Twitter after screenshots circulated of Mero’s biting words.
He wrote, “I tried y’all.”

Desus, born Daniel Baker, confirmed Monday that he and the former homie Mero, born Joel Martinez, were done after Showtime posted a tweet.

Fans on Twitter reacted to the shocking news of the Bodega Boys separating.

One of the producers of Desus & Mero, Heben Nigatu, also confirmed the pair’s run had come to an end and encouraged other networks to hire their team, writing, “Well, friends, it’s the end of an era. It takes a village to make a show, and I’m so honored to have been a part of the Desus & Mero village. Truly the most illustrious team in late night! Hire them all!!! I feel so much pride looking back at everything we made. Nothing compares.”

Deadline also reported that their Showtime series Desus & Mero was a wrap, with its last episode airing on June 23.
A spokesperson told the publication, “Desus Nice and The Kid Mero will be pursuing separate creative endeavors moving forward. Showtime’s late-night talk show Desus & Mero will not be returning for a fifth season. Desus Nice and The Kid Mero have made a name for themselves in comedy and in the late-night space as quick-witted cultural commentators.”
“Throughout its run, the series won a WGA Award, received Critics’ Choice nominations and scored interviews with President Barack Obama, President Joe Biden, Derek Jeter, Missy Elliott, Denzel Washington, Charlize Theron, David Letterman, Yo-Yo Ma and many more,” she added. “They have been brilliant hosts, and we wish them the best, along with the team at Jax Media and the incredible crew.”
The cable network series first aired in 2019. We hope they can mend whatever issues they have.
