Actor Chris Tucker Indebted To The IRS For Millions

Actor Chris Tucker is in hot waters after the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) filed a lawsuit against him, claiming that he owes tax money dating back to 2002.

USA Today obtained

a complaint filed to Nevada federal court on November 15, which detailed attorneys saying that the comedian-actor owes federal taxes, tax penalties, and interest from 2002, 2006, 2008, and 2010 that total a whopping $9.6 million.

“Despite notice and demand for payment of the assessments set forth above, Mr. Tucker has neglected, refused, or failed to fully pay the assessments against him,” the 16-page lawsuit stated.

According to the lawsuit, the large sum of money that the Rush Hour actor reportedly owes is $9,684,452.07.

Lawyers said that Tucker engaged in numerous installment agreements in 2010, 2011, and 2016 in efforts to pay back the IRS in considerable sums throughout ten years, but his payments were past due by 1,112 days.

Many of the tax years where he evaded payments were when Tucker was involved in projects like Rush Hour 2 and Rush Hour 3.

One of the comedian’s early famed films was the 1995 comedy Friday, produced by rapper Ice Cube. In the movie, Tucker played the role of Smokey, who was seen the majority of the movie smoking marijuana.

In a recent interview with the FlixTalk podcast, he said that he didn’t return to the Friday set “because of the weed.”
