After this week’s beef, Ye apologized to Vogue Editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson for bullying her.
Ye, 45, recently attacked Black Vogue editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson for criticizing his Paris Fashion Week show, specifically the use of his White Lives Matter shirts.
After attending the debut of West’s YZY SZN 9 show on Monday, Johnson shared a video from the show on Instagram, writing, “Here come the bullsh*t.”
She added that the White Lives Matter shirts were “incredibly irresponsible and dangerous.” “There is no excuse; there is no art here. I’m sorry I failed to make that clear — I thought I did. I do think if you asked Kanye, he’d say there was art, and revolution, and all of the things in that t-shirt,” she explained.
On October 4, just a day after attacking the Vogue editor, Ye wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post, “Gabby is my sister.” He continued, “I’m not letting people go to bed thinking I didn’t meet with Gabrielle at 5 pm today for 2 hours, then we went to dinner at [Ferdi].”
“We took pics, and I was instructed to not post them,” he continued. “It felt like she was being used like Trevor Noah and other Black people to speak on my expression. She expressed that her company did not instruct her to speak on my t-shirt expression.”
He said he and Johnson “apologized to each other for the way we made each other feel we actually got along and have both experienced the fight for acceptance in a world that’s not our own.”
He concluded, “She disagreed, I disagreed, we disagreed. At least we both love [Ferdi] and fashion.”

The same day, Vogue issued a statement saying the editor met with Ye in private.
“Vogue stands with Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, our Global Fashion Editor at Large and longtime contributor,” the statement says. “She was personally targeted and bullied. It is unacceptable. Now more than ever, voices like hers are needed, and in a private meeting with Ye today, she once again spoke her truth in a way she felt best, on her terms.”
