Sasha, 20, and Malia, 23, Obama truly defined the meaning of sisterhood as they reunited outside of the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on Wednesday afternoon.
While the sisters have always maintained a close relationship, their love for each other was on full display after Sasha was spotted picking up her older sister from the airport. In the clip obtained from TMZ, Sasha exited the vehicle and greeted Malia as the two started dancing for joy during the happy reunion.
After the two embraced each other, the 20-year-old helped Malia put her luggage into the car. One outlet reporter can be heard asking the eldest Obama daughter which coast she likes more since the sisters now live on the west coast. She seemingly provided no eye contact with the reporter, hopped in the passenger seat, and they drove away.
Last month, former first lady Michelle Obama appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show to celebrate the talk show host’s final season while dishing on her daughter’s love lives, careers, and navigating through life as young adults.
“Women,” Michelle said as the audience reacted. “Scary, I know.”
The longtime television host recalled the first time the girls were on the show when they were ages 8 and 10. They reportedly joined their parents for one season to see the Jonas Brothers.
“They loved the Jonas Brothers,” Michelle said. “Now they are bringing grown men home.”
“Before it was just, like, pop bands,” the former first lady continued. “Now they have boyfriends and real lives.”
The 58-year-old spoke about raising her daughters to live normal lives despite growing up in the White House and providing them with the tools to survive on their own.
“I mean, they wouldn’t always be in that bubble of the White House, so they had to learn to make their beds. They had to learn how to drive. They had to learn how to be compassionate, independent, responsible people so that they entered the world as responsible, compassionate, capable people. And I think they are amazing young women because of that,” she said.
According to Page Six, Sasha is currently dating actor Clifton Powell’s son Clifton Powell Jr. The two met each other after the 20-year-old transferred to the University of Southern California in fall 2021. She previously attended the University of Michigan for two years.
Meanwhile, Malia was hired as a writer for Donald Glover’s upcoming Amazon series Hive, per Sis2Sis.
