The city of Milwaukee is celebrating a first in its history– the first Black woman to win the title of Miss Milwaukee.
Twenty-three-year-old Jada Davis took home the title of Miss Milwaukee 2022 on March 19. She defeated seven other contestants in the competition’s first-ever online pageant and won for best talent which came with a $100 prize. Davis performed a contemporary dance number to “Dear Black Girl” by Candace Nicholas.
Her prize of $700 also comes with the opportunity to compete in the upcoming Miss Wisconsin pageant. The state’s pageant winner will represent the Badger State in the Miss America Pageant. Davis will compete against 16 women for the coveted state crown in June.
The Milwaukee resident attends Marquette University Law School and is a 2020 Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Wisconsin- Green Bay where she majored in Communication and Democracy and Justice Studies.
The brilliant beauty is also an entrepreneur and talented dancer. Davis is the CEO of Modern Mvmt Apparel, an athleisure clothing brand created for gymnasts, dancers, skaters, athletes or women on the go. She is also a “licensed and certified” microblading technician and owns Lavish Brows.
On March 25, Davis shared a video to thank her supporters, and she also mentioned the media attention she’s received.

Davis currently works in Milwaukee as a law clerk and has aspirations of becoming an en entertainment attorney. She also volunteers for various organizations throughout her hometown, including the Milwaukee Justice Center, Marquette Volunteer Law Clinic, YWCA, Black Youth Alliance, and Unity Gospel House of Prayer.
As the reigning Miss Milwaukee, Davis will make appearances and bolster her personal social impact initiative– “What’s Wrong With Being Confident?” – the initiative promotes positive body image and self-confidence.
