Stevie J appeared in an all-new episode of TV One’s Uncensored, talking about his career, past relationships with women, and growing up without a mother.
The docuseries, which aired on March 13, was directed by Basketball Wives cast member Tami Roman.
Last week, the music producer provided fans with a sneak peek of Sunday’s episode on Instagram, “God has brought me a mighty long way, I’m grateful??Tune in this Sunday,” he said in the caption.
Though some of the most prominent artists have recognized Stevie’s musical talents in hip-hop, he made a bold statement regarding his stance as a producer. The 50-year-old believes he’s the best in the industry aside from Swizz Beatz, Pharrell, Timbaland, and Drake.
“You got the Timbaland and Swiss Beats, Pharrell, Drake…I can get in the studio with all of them. They know what’s up! These dudes know they just cute at what they do cause I really do this music thing.”

The Love & Hip Hop cast member recalled the first time he met Diddy in the studio.
“Puff walk by in the room and says, ‘Oh yeah, you’re Stevie J. I got a contract for you in my car.’ So I started laughing, and he was like, ‘Come on. Let me talk to you,'” he said. “Puff said he was going to give me 2 million and manage me, and he did just what he said he was going to do.”

He continued, “When I met Puff, he just changed my perspective, my trajectory on life. We went to sell over 100 million records together. Puff changed my life musically, financially, just all the way around.”
The Utica, New York native, born Steven Aaron Jordan, said he grew up without having his mother around for guidance. He said the failed relationships he had with women were likely because his biological mother abandoned him when he was a child.
“It’s just a hard thing to really explain, growing up without your mom — everyone grows up with their mother,” he said. “It’s usually the father that bails, but my father was the one who raised us. Six kids without a wife that’s tough. Being without a mom, it’ll turn you into a savage with the women.”

Stevie spoke with HipHopDx about his mother and how it affected him in adulthood.
“Can’t get a hug from mom and all that,” he told the outlet. “I guess it’s all relative. To me, I didn’t see my father with a whole bunch of women. I probably seen him when I was growing up with like four women. It wasn’t like he was some playboy or something. But me growing without my mother… there’s just no excuse or anything. It’s just how I am. It made me who I am. I just didn’t care about the emotions of a woman.”
Stevie had a 14-year relationship with Mimi Faust, who also appeared on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. The former couple shares a daughter, 13-year-old Eva Giselle Jordan. He was also in a long-term relationship with Joseline Hernandez, whom he shares 5-year-old daughter Bonnie Bella Jordan.
In 2018, Stevie married singer Faith Evans, and the couple was married for three years before they separated in October 2021. While they faced marital issues in their marriage, Stevie said he and Evans were working things out.
“We’re good,” he told HipHopDx. “She’s still Mrs. Jordan. We’re cooling. It’s just like, we just got to have to … we’re handling some things, and we’re keeping it out of the media. That’s my best friend. Why wouldn’t it [work out]? We go back 28 years or something like that. And she know me from A to Z. She know everything about me. I know everything about her. So when it’s like that, it’s bound to work out.”
