This past Sunday morning, Fantasia revealed that she was rushed to the hospital at only six months pregnant on her Instagram story. She recorded herself in a hospital bed beside her husband, Kendall Taylor, saying her early contractions caused her to seek medical attention.
Fantasia starts the video clip by saying, “Good morning. We’ve been in the hospital all day. We have to stay in the hospital for a while.”
Sounding exhausted, she continues, “My baby girl thinks she’s missing something out here. She got to stay in there a little longer.”

The American Idol winner then showed gratitude for her husband, who was napping beside her. “I thank God for my husband. He over there knocked out. Poor thing, he been riding in there with me.”
Offering fans an update, Fantasia stated that her contractions were “starting to come down.”

“My body’s just tired, but we got this,” she said, ending her Instagram story.
Her baby girl will be the first child she shares with her husband and her third child overall. Last November, the “When I See U” singer announced her pregnancy via her Instagram Live and has been updating fans with maternity pics ever since.
Following her pregnancy announcement, she sat down with her husband for the Tamron Hall Show to discuss past issues conceiving and undergoing in-vitro fertilization (IVF). Describing it as a “three-year journey,” Fantasia said, “And then we went back in, and I found out that one of my tubes were closed. We went back, and she says, ‘Well, know that one’s open. The other one is closed.’”
Eventually, after Fantasia says she “forgot about it” and stopped tracking her cycle, the two conceived their child, which Fantasia confirmed with six pregnancy tests.
