On April 4, Fox 5 News reported that the Ruff Ryders assembled outside of the hospital where DMX is in critical condition.
The crew showed up to offer prayers and support for the rapper after he suffered a heart attack brought on by a drug overdose.

Evers stated that the Ruff Ryders are also planning a tribute ceremony, but they have not shared any details on when it will take place.
The crew made up of rappers Eve, The Lox (Jadakiss, Styles P and Sheek Louch), Drag-On, DMX, and Jin began as a management company for the aforementioned artists. The Ruff Ryders were known for riding pimped out motorcycles and producing the illest summer bangers including, “Ruff Ryder’s Anthem,” “Throw It Up,” and “Ruff Ryders 4 Life.”
The tight-knit crew’s success peaked in the early 2000s. The original founding members of the Ruff Ryders– Joaquin and Darin Dean, revamped the brand to become an independent record label distributor in 2010.
According to TMZ, on April 3, the rapper DMZ was hospitalized after suffering from a heart attack caused by a drug overdose on April 3.
DMX’s representative stated, “The Simmons Family appreciates the overwhelming outpouring of heartfelt love, encouragement, support, and prayers for Earl. Earl is someone whose life and music have been a source of inspiration and strength to so many people around the world. It is reassuring to see his fans return that same passion and energy to him during his time of need.”

The artist has been dealing with drug addiction since the age of 14, reported Complex. In his interview, he recounts that the person who introduced him to hip-hop was the person who gave him a crack-laced blunt.
“He passed the blunt around and… I hit the blunt,” DMX told the publication. “I never felt like this before it fucked me up. I later found out that he laced the blunt with crack… Why would you do that to a child? He was like 30, and he knew I looked up to him. Why would you do that to someone who looks up to you?”
DMX shared that his addiction paved the way for his career.
He said, “Drugs were never a problem. Drugs were a symptom of a bigger problem. There were things I went through in my childhood where I just blocked it out.”
“You never know when the things you stored away are going to come out and just fall all over the place,” he expressed. “Let me open this door and start dealing with this shit right now before it comes out at the wrong time, and I just have a meltdown… that’s what’s helped with addiction and sobriety.”
The “Where My Dogs At?” rapper is still on life support. We hope he pulls through.
