Brad “Scarface” Jordan performed one final concert at the House of Blues in Houston, Texas on Nov. 12 before retiring, according to Newsone. The 51-year-old rapper had a kidney transplant on Sept. 14.
Scarface was the first rapper from Houston to have a No. 1 album with “The Untouchable” in 1997. The OG was also part of the group The Geto Boys and collaborated with Tupac Shakur on one his of his last songs, “Smile.”
Jordan performed several songs at the House of Blues retirement concert including “Never Seen A Man Cry” “On My Block” and “Mary Jane.”
Jordan had been on dialysis after having COVID-19 and needed a kidney transplant. His son, Christopher Jordan, volunteered to donate one of his kidneys, and Jordan received a kidney transplant courtesy of his son.
Scarface posted a picture with his son before the surgery with a caption calling his son a superhero.
“Someday we’ll look back at this and laugh about it, thanks to you @_iamchrisjordan I’ll be there too… A real super hero.”
He also praised his son in an interview with KHOU in Houston.
“It’s the ultimate gift, the gift of life,” said Scarface. “I owe him my life. We have an inseparable bond.”

Christoper posted a picture of himself and his father on Instagram after the surgery before leaving the hospital with a caption highlighting donor awareness.

Christopher Jordan also posted a video of some family shenanigans after he was in recovery after surgery.

Jordan said that at least 39 strangers offered to donate a kidney to the rapper but he decided to go with Christoper, who was pleased to be able to help his dad.
“Why not? It’s my dad,” he said. “He gave me life you know so it was only right that I return the favor by extending his.”
