As the backlash against Piers Morgan continued following his inappropriate remarks against Meghan Markle, one television personality put the onus of explaining why Morgan’s behavior was racist on her Black co-host.
At the top of CBS’ morning show The Talk, Sharon Osbourne clamored on to co-host Sheryl Underwood insisting, through white tears, that she “educate” her on which comments made by Morgan were racist during Wednesday’s episode.

“I will ask you again, Sheryl. I’ve been asking you during the break, and I’m asking you again. And don’t try and cry because if anyone should be crying, it should be me,” Osbourne said matter-of-factly to Underwood.
“You tell me, educate me. When you have heard (Morgan) say racist things. Educate me! Tell me!” she ranted as the comedienne tried to explain.
Osbourne finally pulled herself together long enough to hear Underwood’s gracious reply.
“It is not the exact words of racism; it’s the implication and the reaction to it,” Underwood responded calmly. “To not want to address that because she was a Black woman, to try and dismiss it; that’s what makes it racist.”
The comedienne appealed to her hysterical colleague that she considered to be more than an associate.
“But right now, I’m talking to a woman who I believe is my friend,” Underwood continued, “and I don’t want anybody to watch this and (think) we’re attacking you for being racist.”
The delicate white flower continued to take the learning opportunity and make it about her.
“I think it’s too late,” Osbourne snapped in reply. “I think that seed’s already sown.”
Osbourne’s gaslighting of Underwood didn’t go unnoticed. Twitter users quickly pointed out why Black people get tired of explaining racism to obtuse white folks.

They say you really know a person by how they handle being told no. The way Sharon completely dismissed Sheryl’s feelings, tells me just how little she thinks of Sheryl. It was like she said “Know your place black woman.” Terrible.

Twitter users were also quick to remind Osbourne that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Her daughter Kelly Osbourne caught heat for negatively stereotyping Latinos on The View in 2015.

Sharon Osbourne has now apologized for her behavior.
White supremacy and racism– in their current states– have been in existence for at least five centuries. It will never be a Black person’s job to teach whites about those issues.
