90 Day Fiancé alums Chantel Everett and Pedro Jimeno are in the middle of a messy divorce. On Thursday, Everett made allegations against Jimeno in court documents, stating he committed adultery and domestic violence and caused her mental pain.
According to ET, Everett described their marriage as “irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation.” She asked the Gwinnett County court to force her strange husband to return the electronic items she bought while requesting the court to split the marital assets evenly.
The two were initially declared separated on April 27. A month later, Pedro filed for divorce against Everett. The pair also filed mutual restraining orders against each other the same day Jimeno filed for divorce. The orders prohibit both parties from visiting and contacting each other.
Everett has previously accused Jimeno of adultery on their 90 Day Fiancé spin-off show, The Family Chantel. In one episode, Everett and Jimeno argued about his suspicious behavior, like going shopping with his female coworker and coming home drunk early in the morning without communicating with his worried wife at home. She asked him if he was doing untrustworthy things because of the “benefits” he received from their marriage.
“You got your visa, you got your money, you got your job, and you’re ready to fly the coop?” She asked.
Regarding the possibility of the divorce impacting Jimeno’s U.S. citizenship, his attorney Emily Davis of the Ross and Pines law firm told In Touch Weekly that it will not.
“Just simply going through a divorce from Chantel, who is a U.S. citizen, does not mean that Pedro will face deportation,” Davis said. “He is still legally able to remain in the United States as a lawful permanent resident. There are several ways a person can lose their green card, such as commission of certain crimes or abandoning their residency, but a lawful permanent resident with a 10-year green card generally does not lose their green card from divorce.”
She added that he could become a U.S. citizen without Everett.
Everett and Jimeno have been together for a little over six years. They were first introduced to each other through a mutual friend — Everett was learning Spanish from Jimeno while simultaneously teaching him English online. Everett would travel to the Dominican Republic to visit Jimeno, and on her third visit, he proposed to her.
90 Day fans were introduced to the two in 2016 during season 4. The Family Chantel began following the estranged couple’s lives and drama in the summer of 2019.
