Grammy Award-winning rapper and businessman 50 Cent has officially ended his partnership with STARZ and said there are “no hard feelings.”
According to Variety, 50, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, announced that his partnership with Starz would end on Sept. 16 and that he wouldn’t be renewing it. He made the announcement via his Instagram page that day.
“Shout out to BET, I won Hustler of the Year. No one from music culture has had success in television production. I have 25 shows now and I’ve made some big deals away from TV,” he wrote beneath a photo of himself counting money stacks. “I’m out of my deal at STARZ tomorrow [fire emoji]GLG [stoplight emoji] GreenLightGang [bomb emoji] BOOM [smoke emoji] @bransoncognac @lecheminduroi.”

The following day, he wrote another post, saying there were no hard feelings between him and the network.
“This is my vibe right now! STARZ deal done, we had nothing but success so no hard feelings [running emoji],” he said in the post’s caption. “I’m out. I’ll let you know where we are going shortly. @bransoncognac @lecheminduroi.”

50 then wrote a follow-up post, saying he would finally be “owning” his content.
“09-17-22 official day of really owning my content & deciding where and how I do it moving forward!!! GLG [stoplight emoji] GreenLightGang [bulls eye emoji] bull’s eye we don’t miss [bomb emoji] BOOM [air emoji] #bransoncognac #lecheminduroi,” the rapper and businessman said.

The Queens native had reportedly been in a four-year deal with STARZ as he launched two popular series with the network: Power, which aired from 2014 to 2020, and BMF, which began airing in 2021. Power, in particular, has spawned three different spinoffs since it’s inception, including Power Book II: Ghost (2020), Power Book III: Raising Kanan (2021), Power Book IV: Force (2022).
50 previously called out STARZ, saying he was planning to terminate his partnership in March due to the “dumb sh*t” he had to deal with.
“This is me packing my stuff, Starz. Sucks, my deal is up over here,” he said in a now-deleted video. “I’m out. They renewed Hightown and Force is the highest-rated show they have sitting in limbo. If I told you how much dumb s**t I deal with over here.”
However, he seems to have stuck it out and, being that his shows were very successful, he’s reportedly an attractive prospect for industry power players.
