Yvette Nicole Brown Says Matthew McConaughey Smells Of ‘Granola And Good Livin’ Despite No Deodorant

McConaughey claims to have not worn deodorant in decades.

Matthew McConaughey surprised fans when he said that he no longer wears deodorant. Still, Yvette Nicole Brown claims the movie star smells pretty good without it, according to The Jess Cagle Podcast with Julia Cunningham.

Brown was a guest on the podcast on August 13 to discuss her Emmy-nominated guest-performance on A Black Lady Sketch Show. The actress co-starred with McConaughey in Tropic Thunder back in 2008 and said that he smells like granola. Brown also said that he has a sweet scent and smelled delicious.

“I remember that Matthew McConaughey said that he did not use deodorant and that he didn’t have an odor. So my first thought was, I’m going to get as close as I can to him to see if he’s right,” she said. “He did not have an odor. He smells like granola and good livin’, that’s all I can say. He has a sweet, sweet scent that is just him, and it’s not musty or crazy.”

She added that she believes the actor does shower regularly, he just skips the deodorant.

“I believe he bathes because he smelled delicious. He just didn’t have deodorant on.”

Brown posted a Tweet about the podcast on Aug. 18 with a caption.

“Me, too! That little aside with #JessCagle got way more pick-up than I ever imagined!”

Several celebrities were

getting the side-eye recently from fans after they admitted to not bathing regularly, which Brown, like the rest of us, don’t understand.

“Those that don’t bathe, I don’t understand. I got to get under some water and rub some soap on me.”
