Who Will Play Tiana In Disney’s “Princess & the Frog” Live-Action Remake?

Twitter has some casting ideas.

Disney is continuing its trend of turning beloved animated films into live-action adaptations and this week the biggest question on everyone’s minds is: who will play the lead character, Tiana?

The Princess and the Frog, which originally premiered in 2009, features Tiana, a young woman from New Orleans who dreams of owning her own restaurant. She also happens to be the first African American Disney princess.

As of yet, Disney has not officially announced a live-action film but there have been some rumors and speculation circulating on Twitter about who might be in the running.

Ari Lenox and Coco Jones shared their renditions of Tiana’s song, “Almost There.”

The tweet read, “Coco Jones joins in as a possible candidate for Disney’s Tiana in a live-action adaptation of ‘Princess and the Frog!’”

One user wrote, “when disney still pick zendaya for princess tiana after seeing all these girls sing their hearts out on twitter…”

Another said, “Coco Jones and Ari Lennox competing for the role of Princess Tiana”

One fan wrote, “The ONLY correct answer is Anika Noni Rose with her real life husband (Jason Dirden) as Prince Naveen. Argue witcha mammy.”

Another wrote, “I don’t wanna see no damn zendaya, chloe bailey, normani, or even coco jones as Princess Tiana . I want them to cast a talented undiscovered darkskinned girl who is hungry for a lead role!”

Regardless of who is cast as Tiana, a live-action remake of The Princess and the Frog is sure to be a highly anticipated event. We ready.
