Wendy Williams Not Returning To Talk Show At The Beginning of Next Year

Will she ever come back?

The Wendy Williams Show announced on Wednesday, December 8, that Wendy Williams would not be back in her purple chair throughout January.

The announcement came via the show’s official Instagram page.

Guest hosts Fat Joe, and Remy Ma will be hosting together during the first week of January, while Michael Rapaport will return to host the talk show during the second week.

Comedians Kym Whitley and Finesse Mitchell will take over for the third week, and the fan-favorite Sherri Shepherd will host the last week.

PageSix reported that it is still unknown whether Williams will return in February to host the remainder of Season 13.

“Even if she did come back, she’d be a lame duck because her show isn’t renewed beyond this season,” a source told the outlet.

Williams was reportedly filmed earlier this month while she exited a wellness center in Miami, Florida, and told the cameramen she was “doing fabulous.”

Spotted in her Versace robe, Williams also said that fans could expect “much more Wendy stuff” coming soon before she ended the conversation.

As previously reported, Williams recently opened up and said she’s been suffering from Graves’ disease.

In a post on Instagram, she said that her recovery is “taking longer than expected.”

“I’m a woman of a certain age, and I know enough to listen to my doctors and will return to my purple chair as soon as we all agree I’m ready,” she said. “I want to thank all of my staff and our guest hosts for stepping up and stepping in while I can’t be there.”
