Video Vixen Pasha Bleasdell, Widely Known For Starring In Nelly’s “Hot In Herre,” Passes Away At 38

Bleasdell reportedly died from a brain tumor.

Former video vixen Pasha Bleasdell, widely known for starring in Nelly’s “Hot In Herre,” has passed away from a brain tumor at age 38.

Bleasdell’s dear friend, legendary music video director Director X, took to Instagram to announce the somber news on Jun. 6. X, whose real name is Julien Christian Lutz, has directed over 100 music videos, including the iconic “Hot In Herre” (2002).

“We lost a friend yesterday. Pasha Bleasdell passed away from a brain tumor [on Jun. 4 at] 11:59 p.m. If you made videos in 2000s or were around to watch them, you know Pasha,” he wrote.

Lutz added that he initially met the Canadian native while doing “background work” on the set of award-winning R&B singer Donnell Jones’ music video for his hit 1999 song, “Where I Wanna Be.”

“We met her doing background work on the set of Donnell Jones’ ‘Where I Want To Be.’ from there, we put her in the mix. It was a wild ride from then on. I’ve put her in a million videos and spent just as much time hanging out. She was always genuine and cool. Never brought drama to set life. You never know when the last time you speak to someone will be the last time you speak. I hold on to my memories of you with love. Rest in Power Pasha Jan. 24, 1984 – Jun. 4, 2022.”

Bleasdell famously starred in numerous other popular music videos, including legendary dancehall artist Sean Paul’s “Gimmie The Light” (2002) and award-winning rap artist and businessman 50 Cent’s “P.I.M.P” (2003).

Several notable hip-hop legends, including Busta Rhymes, Fabolous, Pusha T, and Jermain Dupri commented on Lutz post, paying their respects to the iconic video girl. Sean Paul paid his respects as well.

Canadian-born choreographer Tanisha Scott, well-known for bringing her iconic dancehall-style dance moves to many popular videos in the 2000s and 2010s, including “Gimmie The Light,” said she was heartbroken over Bleasdell’s death.

“My heart is broken,” she commented.

Another one of Bleasdell’s friends, Tania Cascilla, shared a heartfelt montage video of them hanging out in recent years.

“Saying goodbye is never easy, and I’m having a hard time processing this. P, you were my sister, my day one. We literally went through everything together. I love you sooooo much,” she wrote via Instagram on Jun. 6.

The video icon will be truly missed.
