Usher Sings To Issa Rae Onstage During ‘My Way’ Tour: “Do You Mind If I Just Sing A Couple Songs To You?”

The sweet moment went down on Oct. 15.

Award-winning R&B legend Usher recently sang to Issa Rae onstage during his “My Way” Residency, asking, “Do you mind if I just sing a couple [of] songs to you?”

On Oct. 15, Usher serenaded Issa Rae with a live rendition of his 2004 song “Superstar”–a moment that he shared a video of via Instagram.

“I love you Issa Rae,” Usher gushed as they moved in unison. Then he asked, “Issa, do you mind if I just sing a couple [of] songs to you? Can I just serenade you a little bit? I want you to just sit right here with me.”

The following day, he made an IG post with the caption, “@issarae in the building!! #UsherMyWay [chocolate bar emoji]. All Love.”

The 44-year-old singer has been having the time of his life, as he’s not only enjoying a successful Las Vegas residency, but he also had an epic birthday. On Oct. 14, veteran R&B crooner Chris Brown and R&B legend Anita Baker surprised
him onstage and Anita even sang “Happy Birthday.”

“The icon Anita Baker!” Usher said about the Detroit native via Instagram on Oct. 15. “My favorite auntie, thank you for this surprise bday moment. You got me!”

In another post, he called Chris a legend and then reiterated his sentiment in a second one.

“I said it before, LEGEND….thank you to my brother for life @chrisbrownofficial,” the “There Goes My Baby” artist said.

Other memorable moments during the residency include when he brought veteran actress Taraji P. Henson out for her birthday and surprised fans with an appearance by ’90s legend Tevin Campbell.

The first leg of the My Way Residency, which has been sold out every day since it began, reportedly ends on Oct. 29. The second leg is set to kick off at the exact location, Dolby Live at Park MGM, on Mar. 3.
