UPDATE: Tory Lanez Facing Multiple Charges In Megan Thee Stallion Shooting

If convicted, Lanez is facing a maximum of 22 years and eight months in prison.

Tory Lanez will be headed back to court in connection to the July 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion.

According to Rolling Stone, Lanez is set to attend

a preliminary hearing in the case next month on Dec. 14. Lanez faces multiple charges including, “assault with a semi-automatic firearm and carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm in a vehicle. If he is convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of 22 years and eight months in prison.”

The “Say It” rapper will not be entering a plea deal even though Lanez’s defense attorney, Shawn Holley, previously attempted to reach a plea deal with Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Kathy Ta.

During last month’s court hearing, Ta stated that there were discussions involving a plea deal on the table, but Holley said Lanez’s original plea still stands.

“As in every case, the lawyers for the parties discuss the possibility of resolving the case. This case is no different. That said, our position as to what did and did not happen in this matter remains unchanged,” she told the publication.

The district attorney will be given 90 minutes in the preliminary hearing to present testimony regarding the night of the shooting.

The rapper, whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, has two pending felony charges, including assault with a semi-automatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered handgun in a vehicle. “He’s also facing the added allegation he “personally inflicted great bodily injury.” “

Sis2sis previously reported that Lanez’s bail could be revoked or increased after violating the criminal restraining order against him. During the summer, on Jul. 25, Lanez made a surprise appearance at Rolling Loud Miami, where he shared the stage with rapper Da Baby during Thee Stallion’s hit song “Cry Baby” playing while she was in the venue.

The judge presiding over the case outlined the violations on Aug. 13 and increased the bail amount from $190,000 to $250,000.
