UPDATE: Deshayla Harris’s Family Unhappy With Virginia Beach Police’s Investigation

Her mother claims she hasn't received many updates on her daughter's case.

As we reported last week, Deshayla Harris was an unfortunate victim in March’s Virginia Beach shooting incident. The “Bad Girls Club” star was fatally shot along with two others. Now, as Virginia Beach police try to zero in on a suspect, Harris’s family has spoken out and claimed that they aren’t satisfied with the ongoing investigation.

Police believe the 28-year-old was an innocent bystander who accidentally caught a stray bullet. Allegedly, gunfire abruptly rang out at the Oceanfront where Harris was attending with friends. According to WTKR, Harris’s mother, Elisheba Harris, heard about the shooting and attempted to

phone her daughter, hoping she was safe.

Harris’s sister, Tikeera Harris, explained the shooting incident that took place on March 26. “They was running. They jumped into the bushes, they tapped her; she was unresponsive. That’s when they pulled her off to the street and started yelling, ‘Help! Help!’ she said.

Harris claims that Virginia Beach police never officially met with her and confirmed her daughter’s death through a FaceTime video call. “Why am I calling you?” the grieving mother asked. “Why am I calling the police department looking for my child? Why am I calling hospitals looking for my child?”

She also revealed that it’s been difficult for the family to get updates on the case, and she fears that police are focusing more on other shootings. Currently, the Harris family has a GoFundMe page to help

raise money during this difficult time.

As for the future of the investigation, Harris’s mom hopes that she can soon reach a resolution, sayingIt’s gonna be a closure somewhere, and I’m going to keep reaching out until I get something.”
