Upcoming Big Daddy Kane Netflix Documentary To Feature Jay-Z, Eminem, Common & More

"Paragraphs I Manifest" will give fans a closer look at Big Daddy Kane's rise to success.

At 52-years-old, Big Daddy Kane is currently working with Netflix to produce Paragraphs I Manifest, a music documentary surrounding his life and rise to stardom.

Whether you grew up listening to him or not, Big Daddy Kane is a pioneer in rap/hip-hop and served as an inspiration for many artists we love today. With over 20 years in the game, the ‘80s-bred emcee gained recognition with hits “Smooth Operator” and “Ain’t No Half Steppin” and countless others, solidifying his status as a legendary rapper.

He recently sat down with Hip Hop DX to announce several high-profile celebrities featured in the upcoming special.

“I got JAY-Z, Eminem, KRS-One, Doug E. Fresh. I even got some of the battle rappers like Goodz Da Animal and Aye Verb, so it’s coming out real good. I’m supposed to do Common,” he told the outlet, later posting a picture with Common and confirming his addition to the Paragraphs I Manifest documentary.

Much love to @common and the StuyVision crew. We almost done. #paragraphsimanifest” the Brooklyn-born rapper

wrote on his Instagram. The Grammy award-winning rapper also shared a picture of the two in a sit-down interview.

In an interview with People’s Party with Talib Kweli last month, Big Daddy Kane discussed his relationship with Eminem, who referred to him as a “major influence.” Saying that he was surprised to learn about his impact on the “Stan” rapper, he said, “I think that Eminem has a unique style. But I didn’t really see how it resembled mine. If anything, I would think, flow-wise, it kinda resembled Busta.”

“But when we did this interview just recently,” he

continued, “He was talking to me about my rhymes, then I was sitting there like, ‘Ok, I get it now.’”

So far, no release date for the documentary has been announced.
