Up And Stuck! Kandi Burruss Gets Emmy And Tony Nomination In 24 Hours

Multifaceted Kandi Burruss’ week went from good to outstanding after receiving an Emmy and Tony nomination in 24 hours.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta reality star took to Instagram on Monday to announce her Emmy nomination. Initially, she hesitated since she hadn’t won anything yet, but she wanted to share her excitement with her followers.

“It’s a money-making Monday. And extremely exciting money-making Monday,” she said. “I got a lot to be excited about. I’ve been screaming all morning and super excited….Even a nomination is something to be excited about.”

Burruss continued, wearing an awe expression, “I got an Emmy nomination, y’all…today.”

Burruss received the accolade for her project, “La Musica de La Familia.” Her nomination is for the Southeast Emmy Award in the “Historic/ Cultural/Politics/Government/Societal Concerns” category.

“It’s a project that I never even told anybody I was involved in,” Burruss explained to her viewers. “Hopefully, I will have another moment like this tomorrow as they announce the Tony nominations tomorrow.”

The moment came! Burruss’ husband, Todd Tucker, announced they received a Tony nomination for “Best Revival of a Play” for a show they produced, The Piano Lesson.

“Wow, we are Tony Award-nominated Producers! @kandi, you’re on your way to that EGOT. What a great week Emmy nomination and a Tony nomination!”

Kandi shared her excitement about achieving a Tony nomination.

“Y’all, I’ve been screaming & praising God all morning! Wow! Just wow! We got the Tony nomination, yall! I’ve been praying for this. To share this moment with my husband is just awesome,” she wrote on Instagram. “To our whole

Burruss is on her way to EGOT status since the hitmaker already has two Grammy awards for writing songs like “No Scrubs” by TLC.

She now needs an Academy Award nomination.
