Twitter User Had The Internet In A Tizzy After Mistaking Laverne Cox For Beyoncé At U.S. Open

Bruh, Stevie Wonder could see that wasn't Beyoncé! ?

One Twitter user mistakenly pegged a 50-year-old masked actress for our beloved Queen Bey at the U.S. Open.

On August 29, Choni Francis wrote, “#Beyoncé  at the #USOpen.”

The blonde-masked queen was none other than Becoming Anna star Laverne  Cox. The brown-skinned beauty rocked a Beyoncé-esque look with cafe-au-lait leather pants and a black peek-a-boo blouse.

Black Twitter had questions about Choni’s false revelation.

Some folks thought the man needed glasses.

Choni realized the faux pas, wrote another post, and admitted that he had mistaken Cox for Beyoncé.

“My bad. I wasn’t trying to be funny, I promise.”

The Twitter user took advantage of the hilarious situation to plug himself. He dropped his IMDB that listed him as an actor, writer and producer.

“Any other digital press writing articles. Please write my name in the body of the article. Here is my visual resume. Let my ‘tweet’ blunder create a lasting viewer friendship of my art creativity. What it do! Choni Francis”

Ironically, Cox appeared to channel her inner Queen Bey. She posted her fit for the U.S. Open on Instagram with the “Break My Soul” singer’s new single “Pure/Honey” playing for background music.

“Ready to go celebrate the #GOAT @serenawilliams at the #USOpen tonight. Go Serena!!!”

Serena Williams won, y’all!
