Lanez, born Daystar Peterson, pleaded not guilty in November 2020 to two felony charges: assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. He was later was accused of shooting Stallion in the foot last year and charged with a felony assault. His restraining order requires him to stay away from Megan, and he was supposedly within 100 yards of her.

In response to his presence, prosecutors are now going after him in court. They are seeking to revoke or increase his bail. They claim he violated a court order to stay away from Megan Thee Stallion, a slated performer at the popular hip-hop music festival.
