TLC Postpones Tour Dates Due To Health Concerns For T-Boz

Iconic 90s group TLC has had to postpone their tour due to T-Boz experiencing health issues related to allergies from the recreational smoking at a previous venue.

The two CrazySexyCool concerts slated for Texas had to be rescheduled after T-Boz suffered an allergic reaction during the group’s national tour.

On Twitter, TLC’s official page alerted prospective attendees that the Oct. 2 show in Houston would be moved to Oct. 4.

“Due to extreme cigarette and recreational smoke being present backstage at a previous show, T-Boz suffered an allergic reaction,” the post read in part.

Another post notified ticketholders for the Oct. 3 performance that their opportunity to see the group would be moved to Oct. 5 in Irving, Texas.

TLC has been on tour with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony since early September.

The tour is celebrating the group’s massively popular 1994 album “CrazySexyCool.” That was the album that brought us “Creep” and “Waterfalls.” It peaked at number 3 on the Billboard 200 and had four Billboard Hot 100 top five hits.

It is not uncommon for individuals with allergies to suffer in the presence of smoke.

In T-Boz’s case, exposure to the toxins in the cigarettes was even more dangerous because she had Sickle Cell Anemia. The disease itself comes with an increased risk of pulmonary abnormality due to deoxygenated hemoglobin, and cigarette smoke only increases the chances of severe illness or morbidity.

Smoking and cigarette smoke can also be hard on one’s singing voice.

TLC has always had a strict no-smoking policy on their tours and at their shows for their health and crew.

We certainly wish T-Boz and Chili good health for the remainder of the tour. For the sake of anxious ticketholders everywhere, may the relics who keep lighting up not be at any more concert dates with the group.
