Ms. Holla, the 97-year-old unapologetically blunt grandmother the world grew

to love, died on Saturday.

Her granddaughter, Michelle Williams, shared the news on Facebook and YouTube, saying that Grandma Holla died peacefully in her sleep at 5 p.m.

“Our queen is gone. My grandmother passed away,” she said at the beginning of the video. “I want to thank y’all so much for the smiles y’all put on her face. Her last days, it really means the world to me. It meant the world to her. She passed away in her sleep. She went out peacefully.”

Williams continued, getting emotional, “What’s really keeping me together here, y’all, is…she’s not in pain anymore, no more cancer, no more morphine, no more…none of that. So, that’s what’s really keeping me together. But like I say, y’all, it [has] been fun. We had fun. Y’all made her days amazing.”

Williams asked viewers to keep

her family in their prayers and said she was still in disbelief about her grandmother’s passing.

Ms. Holla’s death shocked fans who took to Twitter to express their sadness over the news, including RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Bianca Del Rio.
