The Beyoncé Effect Brought Robin S. Back In The Spotlight After Showing Love To The ’90s Singer In Her Latest Single

"Thank you so much for giving me my flowers while I'm still alive," Robin S. said.

Singer Robin S. was surprised to discover from her son that she was trending all over social media after Beyoncé sampled her chart-topper “Show Me Love” in her newly released single “Break My Soul.”

“My son called me, and he’s like, ‘Mom, Mom. You’re trending all over the place,” she explained to Good Morning Britain. “You know, Beyoncé put her song out, and it’s ‘Show Me Love,’ and you’re trending everywhere.’”

Queen Bey’s song is a taste of what’s to come in her upcoming album Renaissance and gives a nod to house music. Following the release, the ’90s singer said she gained more fans and overwhelming support.

TMZ reported that Robin S. had been offered numerous business opportunities, receiving calls from record labels, well-known DJs and ad agencies, proving that the Beyoncé effect is real.

While the “Show Me Love” singer didn’t know that Beyoncé was using her track for “Break My Soul,” she did say that confirmation wasn’t needed to recognize her song.

“It doesn’t have to be confirmed. A singer knows her songs,” she told the outlet.

Robin S. shared her gratitude and even had a personal message for Queen Bey.

“This is Robin S., and this message goes out to the Queen Bey herself, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and the entire team,” she said. “Thank you so much for giving me my flowers while I’m still alive. I am honored, and I’m excited to see what else can happen.”

While many people enjoyed “Break My Soul” and hoped the two would unite for a duet, others were disappointed that she didn’t credit the singer. Fans stuck up for the “Halo” singer saying she credited the creators of “Show Me Love” since she used to track and not Robin S.’s vocals.

The Renaissance album is set to release on July 29, 2022.
