Teyonah Parris Appreciates a Group of Jovial Black Women On the Set of WandaVision

Black women also say we need to come together and help each other in need. But, how many of us mean it from the bottom of their hearts? Women are quick to give each other a hard time believing someone is trying to take over their spot purposely. Overall, we need to exercise this representation in society.

And Marvel actress, Teyonah Parris, appreciates the Marvel team to make sure she had a team that exemplifies unity and teamwork. Parris plays Monica Rambeau in Marvel’s films, WandaVision, and Captain Marvel 2, and her character is displayed tastefully in the movie. Parris’s character is an intelligent and ambitious woman, and her bravery was brought to the forefront after her mother, Maria, passed away.

“It is truly an honor. I’m really excited by the opportunity I’ve been given. I think it’s so important to have a myriad of representation in diversity, and so I’m really excited to be a part of the MCY during this phase where they’re making that huge stride and getting more diverse superheroes’ story into the world,” said Parris.

Parris would star in the upcoming films in fall 2022, and it elated about being a member of the Marvel family. She said the company is attentive to her concerns and requests in a coherent way. Parris expressed her level of gratitude to the team of minority women when she said, “Just having a team of bomb-ass Black women supporting me and Marvel supporting us in the vision and the image that we wanted to create has been a dream come true.” Various women of color were responsible for hair and makeup for the film. Regina Little was a makeup artist, Nikkie Wright, the hairstylist, and Cookie Jordan created Parris’ wig.

“I’m just so grateful to Marvel and the producers on the show that they empowered us and gave us the space and the freedom to tell the visual story that we also thought was important and making sure those stories blended together seamlessly that they may complement one another, so it’s been a dream,” said Parris.
