Teyana Taylor Declares She And Iman Shumpert Are Separated, Denies ‘Infidelity’ Played A Role

Singer and actress Teyana Taylor, 32, announced she and Iman Shumpert, 33, had been separated “for a while” on Sunday, Sept. 17, amid infidelity rumors.

A week after reports of Shumpert’s possible infidelity surfaced, Taylor took to her Instagram platform to appease the online frenzy by shutting down infidelity rumors and dropping a heartbreaking update on their relationship status — separated.

“AHT AHT! Not too much on my best! In all fairness, Iman and I are separated and have been for a while,” Taylor wrote in the post’s caption, containing a photo of the two dressed as Wayne and Garth from the classic film Wayne’s World.

“To be 1000% clear, ‘infidelity’ ain’t one of the reasons for our departure,” the “Gonna Love Me” singer wrote. “We are still the best of friends, great business partners and are one hell of a team when it comes to co-parenting our 2 beautiful children. Most importantly, we are FAMILY & in the 10yrs together, 7yrs married, we ain’t ever played with or about THAT. We just keep y’all asses out the group chat, lol, which is the reason we’ve been able to successfully & peacefully separate without all of the outside noise.”

The 32-year-old concluded, “The only reason I’m even sharing this part of the chat is because the narratives are getting a little out of hand & it’s unfair to all parties involved. I hope this provided some clarity for y’all.”

Some commenters expressed shock and disappointment, while others lauded the Honey: Rise Up and Dance actress for her transparency and how she presented the news.

Last week, videos and photos of an Instagram model with a chain around her neck that many recognized from Shumpert.

However, the woman who went by the Instagram handle @ayy_mamiii_ came forward and stated she and the NBA player only worked together and that the chain was something the 33-year-old baller gave to the artists signed to his record label, Radar Online
