Texas Teen Slays In Michael Jackson-Inspired Prom Dress

The dress was inspired by the King of Pop's iconic blue and gold blazer he wore to the 1984 Grammy's.

A Texas teen understood the assignment regarding slaying a look for this year’s prom. Self-proclaimed Dallas fashion model Gabby Matsuoka posed in her blue and gold sparkly prom gown with sheer gold shoulder pads, which looked almost identical to the King of Pop Michael Jackson’s iconic blue and gold blazer he wore to the 1984 Grammy Awards.

The dress was custom designed by “The Kiwe Prom,” a prom dress designing company known for its ability to create lavish prom apparel in the Dallas area.

The designer posted a photo of Matsuoka in the dress with a caption that read,

“The Iconic Blazer Michael Jackson wore to the Grammys. #Michael Jackson Inspired Prom Dress. My Prom Doll [Matsuoka] is a huge fan. How did we do???”

One person commented, “I love this! For so many reasons…one, she looks beautiful, two, the respect given to an ICON, and the fact that she’s young & of this generation and can appreciate it. SHE LOOKS BEAUTIFUL.”

Another person commented, “This hits every single right note!!! Inspiration instead of limitation WINNER.”

Matsuoka also went to Instagram to show off her gown. In one post, there are ten photos of the high school teen in her dress at prom with the caption, “#MICHAELJACKSON: this is for the girls in the balcony,” a quote from Jackson’s Grammy speech.

In another post, the Texas teen posts ten more photos and takes a song lyric from the King of Pop in her caption, “Do you remember the time?”

The King of Pop would definitely be proud!
