Ten Injured At French Montana Miami Music Video Shooting

The ten people were injured by gunfire that broke out the night of January 5.

On January 5, ten people were injured by gunfire at French Montana’s Miami music video shoot.

According

to WSVN 7, Miami police and fire and rescue are still investigating the cause of the incident and all those involved. Authorities responded to The Licking, a 17647 NW 27th Avenue restaurant. Reports have said Louisiana-based rapper Rob49 was one of the ten wounded people.

“It literally happened right after this scene,” witness Wilmar Baez said, showing a video he took during the incident. He explained that he was a part of the production. “All of a sudden, ‘pow, pow, pow, pow, pow, pow,’ and that’s when everybody started running. There were three bodies on the floor laid out, and there were two other people walking around shot.”

Miami Garden Police Department Detective Diana Gourgue said, “We’re still working [the scene]. Yeah, there’s multiple shots, there’s multiple cases. We’re still working. We can’t confirm any numbers at this moment because everything is still fresh, and they’re still investigating. We had a total of 10 [victims]. Four brought themselves to the hospital, and we’ve treated six transported.”

Paramedics said four victims were airlifted to the nearby trauma center with severe injuries. Police haven’t released details of the shooting, whether it was one perpetrator firing into the crowd or if it was two groups firing at each other.

Another witness Ced Mogul offered more information to WSVN 7; he told the outlet that he saw someone else watching was robbed of their wallets, keys, and watch and that the incident led to the shooting.

“[He asked to] call his mother and see if we can get spare car keys and make sure, you know, he’s OK, and then the gunshots went off,” Mogul said, “at least 13, 14, 15 gunshots. It was very rapid; it sounded like an assault rifle.”

“I took off running, and I was looking back, but I was like, you know what? Let me just duck first, and then people started asking me, you know, ‘Can you help me?’ When I realized people were asking for help, there was nothing you could do about it when you got shot.”

French Montana took to Twitter to offer his condolences and break his silence following the horrific shooting.
