Taylor Simone Ledward, Chadwick Boseman’s Widow, Tearfully Accepts His Golden Globe For Best Performance In ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom’

Chadwick Boseman’s widow’s acceptance speech at Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards was an emotional one.  Through tears, Taylor Simone Ledward accepted the award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama on behalf of her talented husband. In her speech, Ledward delivered the words she thought her husband would say if he were still alive.

“He would thank God, he would thank his parents, he would thank his ancestors for their guidance and their sacrifices,” she said, tears falling down her cheeks. “He would say something beautiful, something inspiring, something that would amplify that little voice inside of us that tells us all to keep going.”

Boseman’s fans showed Ledward an outpouring of love and support on Twitter.
