Takeoff Having No Will Leaves Parents To Fight Over Who Gets Ownership Of His Multi-Million Dollar Estate

The parents of the late Migos rapper Takeoff are in an ongoing battle with each other over his multi-million dollar estate since he died without a will.

On Nov. 1, Takeoff, born Kirshnik Khari Tiquon Ball, was shot and killed outside a Houston bowling alley where a private birthday party took place. He was with his uncle and fellow Migos member Quavo, who was playing a dice game when an argument ensued, leading to the shooting.

Under Georgia state law, if a loved one dies without a will, the deceased one’s entire estate goes to the closest living relatives. According to an anonymous source of Media Take Out, Takeoff didn’t have any children, leaving the $26 million estate to his parents, Titania Davenport-Treet and Kenneth M. Ball, his closest living relatives.

But the feud is over who was closer to the rapper, which sources claimed was Davenport-Treet. The same sources were unaware that Takeoff’s father had any involvement in Takeoff’s upbringing.

In the song “Highway 85” by the Migos, Takeoff rapped

about being raised by a single mother, saying, “And most of us got single parents, only a mother/N***as in the kitchen whipping chickens, tryna get butter.”

However, Takeoff’s father took to Facebook to clarify that he was involved in raising his son and that they did have a relationship.

“Treet and I are mourning the death of our son due to gun violence and death is a hard process no matter how it happens,” Ball wrote. “Peoples opinions doesn’t change the fact that both families are mourning. Prayers from true believers and saints of God is all that both families needs. We must stay focused.”

Takeoff’s siblings from his dad’s side jumped to their father’s defense on Twitter, claiming that Davenport-Treet kept Takeoff from that side of the family. The siblings ended up in a heated Twitter battle with users claiming they were selfish for airing dirty business the day of his funeral, Nov. 11.
