Starz Renews Run the World For Second Season

Rachelle Williams takes over showrunning duties from Yvette Lee Bowser.

Starz has renewed the second season of its comedy series Run The World from Lionsgate Television.

The new season will come with new showrunner Rachelle Williams who is taking over for Yvette Lee Bowser. Bowser will continue to serve as executive producer alongside Williams and series creator Leigh Davenport.

The series follows a group of gorgeous, smart, funny, and vibrant thirty-something Black women who navigate their highs and lows in the urban landscape of Harlem, NY. The show is raw, authentic and shows the viewer how the characters grow in relationships and sisterhood.

The cast was excited about the news and took to social media to share their reactions.

Williams previously was a writer on Starz’s Survivor’s Remorse and Tuca & Bertie on Netflix and a writer-producer on BET+’s First Wives Club. She also is a co-executive producer and co-showrunner on HBO Max’s Love Life which is also entering its second season.
