Shaunie Henderson Says She’s Happy Shaq Takes Responsibility For “Ruining” Their Marriage

She kept it all the way real.

A PageSix interview with Basketball Wives producer Shaunie Henderson revealed that she’s “happy” that her ex-husband, Shaquille O’Neal, is aware of the mistakes he made while they were married. The former Lakers player admitted that he was to blame for their marriage ending in divorce.

He said, “I was a d–khead. You don’t know how good you got something ’til it’s gone. Sometimes, when you live that double life, you get caught up. I’m not going to say it was her. It was all me.”

Shaunie, 47, disclosed to the outlet that she was glad Shaq was taking responsibility, but “I don’t need that validation. I’m pretty confident in who I am and what I’ve done. And what I’ve accomplished and what I’ve worked on to better myself. I don’t need somebody else’s validation to put my chest out. I feel my best right now in life.”

The exclusive with PageSix focused on Henderson and Shaq’s nine-year relationship, and Henderson admitted that she does get tired of talking about it.

One thousand percent, I get tired of the ‘Shaq’ questions, yes,” She said. “I just don’t know if those questions are necessary almost 13 years later, you know what I mean? That was a time in my life… If you have any questions about Keion Henderson, you are more than willing to ask all day long; shoot!”

Pastor Keion Henderson happily married Shaunie, and their relationship seems to be going well – having celebrated their extravagant honeymoon with a month-long European yacht excursion after getting engaged back in November of 2021. Despite being married before, being proposed to by Keion was entirely different for her. “I never got proposed to, and he [Keion] proposed to me. I got asked to be married, but I wasn’t proposed to. Like a man bending down on one knee with his hand in the air with a ring. I’ve never experienced that.”

We wish Shaunie and Keion the best!
