Say What?! Tracy Morgan Built A Shark Tank In His House To Support Daughter’s Marine Biology Dreams

Talk about encouraging your child's dreams!

First Sunday, actor Tracy Morgan took fathering to a new level.

On the Kelly Clarkson Show with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her daughter Chelsea Clinton, Morgan disclosed that his daughter, 9-year-old Maven Sonae, aspired to become a marine biologist. And to support her dreams, he had a 20,000-gallon shark tank built for her in the backyard.

“There’s 14 or 15 sharks in there, black tips, white tips,” Morgan said. “She wanted it. She wanted to study, so I put like eight tanks in the house. Have the shark tank inside the house.”

He started naming the types of sharks in the tanks.

“She has cone snail from Australia,” the actor stated. “Even seas in the world. And the cone snail is the most dangerous thing on the planet. One cone snail could kill a blue whale.”

Clarkson asked Morgan who would feed the sharks and The Last OG actor replied he hired people to do that for him.

“I have a team of people that come and take care of her tanks every day.”

Morgan shares Maven with his ex, actress, and producer Megan Wollover.

On The Ellen Show with Ellen DeGeneres, Morgan talked about a time he would turn the basement in his house into a haunted house for his daughter and her school friends every Halloween.

“The whole basement becomes a haunted house, and it’s very scary down there,” he said. “I don’t go down there.”

Morgan was involved in a horrific car crash when Maven was just a baby, and it left him with a traumatic brain injury, placing him in a coma in 2014. On the TODAY show, the comedian and actor credited

his daughter for being his inspiration to fight the coma.

“People don’t just come out of comas,” Morgan said. “I had to fight. I knew I had to be here for her. I wanted to see my daughter. I’ve always wanted a daughter and have a female version of me. And I’m looking at it every day as she grows under my gaze. And I love her.”
