Rhode Island State Senator Received Backlash For Twerking On TikTok

Girl, ignore these people!

The internet slammed Black Democratic Rhode Island State Senator Tiara Mack for posting a video of herself twerking in a bikini at the beach for votes on Monday.

The District 6 state senator is running for re-election and took a unique approach to campaign for her candidacy using the Generation Z-dominated video platform, TikTok.

Although part of the 28-year-old state senator’s comment section was supportive, most of it was not. She didn’t let some of her haters get away with their sly comments without addressing them.

“Say what you will about repub/dem supporting this content or not,” one user commented. “This will simply not get you elected.”

Mack corrected the commenter through a stitch, saying, “I believe the word that you meant to use was ‘re-election,’ it won’t get me ‘re-elected.’ And it probably will because my constituents f**king love that I’m a real person and fun and not a robot.”

In response to a comment that read, “it’s the bare minimum for your politicians to act like they have some sense. Every other country, this is normal but not America.”

She snapped by saying, “Please do not hop on to the internet in 2022 as if the insurrection did not happen. Go talk to an insurrectionist, go talk to y’all’s old president, don’t come to me with this nonsense. Like, please.”

The insurrection she’s referring to is America’s most embarrassing moment in history, the raiding of the capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, where sore loser Orange Julius supporters couldn’t fathom how elections work.

People also took to Twitter to mouth off about the state senator twerking on TikTok, overlooking the amount of activism she has done, from advocating for reproductive rights to standing with the LGBTQ community. Not to mention the numerous people she inspired by being the first Black LGBTQ person elected to be a state senate. Keep in mind that some of these trolls don’t even know how to spell her name.

“Vote (sic) Tierra Mack, or what, she’ll fall on them. How embarrassing to have anyone like this as a state senator,” a trolling Twitter user wrote. “What kind of behavior is this to stick your (big) a** in the air and twerk. What’s this kind of mentality, the kind I don’t want in government. Seriously.”

The not-so-comical fool Tucker Carlson discussed the matter using sarcasm and calling Mack “the next rising star of the Democrat party” and even made a clap at her having a degree from ivy league Brown University, saying, “[she has] an ivy league degree from Brown but still technically ivy league. Famous people send their kids there, whatever, it’s Brown. You should be impressed.”

Okay, Mr. Trinity College, AKA not Brown University.

In regards to the hate she has received, Mack tweeted, “D**n. Twerking upside down really makes the conservative, unhinged internet accounts pop off on a Monday.”
